Travel Guide Egypt

Egypt is gaining popularity as a travel destination. People find more reasons to visit the country over others. Egypt offers a glimpse of human history combined with its rich cultural diversities. We were overwhelmed by the incredible historic monuments and sights. Traveling in Egypt is not a problematic venture once your visa formalities are done properly. The land of Pharaohs has much to offer along with the historical places.
We tried scuba diving, sailing and even spent a day golfing out. We had a pre concept that Egypt would be a place still living in ancient times, unaware of modern developments. But, our opinion changed at the very moment we reached the land. Though the weather is very hot but this is what made us have the feel that we were in the land of deserts. The place that we found the most exciting in Egypt was Luxor. This is the place where several Pharaohs were buried. Snorkeling in Sharm el Sheikh was out of the world. From Luxor, we made a short
trip to Aswan, which is a relaxed place, far from the hustle-bustle of big towns. Here we mainly visited nearby places by walking and only once, we hired a taxi, as we were tired. Egypt offers myriads of things to shop, ranging from clothes, to jewelry pieces to antiques. Though Cairo is considered as the place for shopping, we ventured out to some local markets and scored good bargains. Cairo boasts the rank of being the thirteenth largest city. We couldn’t have come back without visiting the world famous place since times immortal. It was the attraction of the famous Giza Pyramids that had compelled us to go to Egypt. Seeing the giant Sphinx was like a dream coming true for me. I have no words to describe the grandeur and majesty of the monuments. But one thing is for sure: Egyptians in ancient times were much more ahead of their time. We got in and got out of Cairo by tourist buses, which are enjoyable and a cheaper option for travel. Visiting Egypt has been a learning experience for me. Still I have learnt just a little bit of our history. I guess one trip could never have been enough to assimilate all of Egypt’s historical richness. I am planning to visit Egypt again very soon.

Obviously this is a popular blog with great data, so well done hotelsbible on your success. More interesting topics should be discussed… refined and informative. I’ll check back soon for any added comments. Thanks.
I agree to the post and all comments here. Egypt makes a great vacation spot. I’ve recently been to Cairo with my family, kids and all. Everything went so smoothly, even with the baby … we just had great holidays! I don’t tink anyone can ever regret having visited Egypt!
My wife and I had been planning our trip to Egypt for some time, and this year we finally made it to one of the most beautiful coutries of the world. A wonderful, memorable trip it was … a true journey through time, back into ancient civilization.
The most natural choice for our first day visits was the pyramids. We visited almost all of the most important pyramids of Egypt. There was the Step Pyramid - the oldest stone building in the world - the Bent Pyramid that will leave you perplexed, and the Red Pyramid, built just before the Great Pyramid of Giza. Of course the most stunning of all is the Great Pyramid of Giza. Our guide told us that for four thousand three hundred years, until the Eiffel Tower was built, The Giza Pyramid had been the tallest building in the world. We also visited the Second Pyramid as well as the pyramid of Chephren or Khaefre.

On the second day we flew to Luxor to see the famous temple, though we were later more impressed by the architecture of some other temples that we visited. I must say that the Luxor Temple really needs some restoration work done. On the third day, we passed by the Valley of the Kings and made it to the Temple of Hatshepsut, where we saw smiling statues of Hatshepsut - the most powerful woman of Ancient Egypt. The smile of those status will definitely remind you of the Mona Lisa smile. We also saw the Temple of Karnak, the largest temple in ancient Egypt, and definitely a more impressive one than Luxor.

And here’s the Luxor Temple

But who can be to Egypt and not enjoy a cruise down the Nile … the world’s longest river! I think the best part of the cruise is when the boat stops at the Temple of Horus or that of the crocodile god, or when it passes by the impressive structure of the Aswan Dam.

And the Statue of Horus at His Temple
But I’m more into cultural tourism and I appreciate architecture. My wife was fascinated by the crocodiles and hippos we saw along the river. She even got totally mesmerized by the cobras that the snake charmer had brought at the temple of the crocodile god.

My advice to those of you travelling to Egypt. Travel with a partner or friend; the hotel will only charge a nominal fee for an additional person and if your partner or friend is on business, you can get his / her corporate discount for the additional seat on the plane each way!! Most mid-range Hotels in Egypt offer a great complimentary breakfast, so eat big for your first meal to prepare for all the walking through the deserts.
Am not easily impressed. But I’ve actually come to like hotelsbible.com, and I pay regular visits here. Thanks people, you’re doing a great job!
Great and relevant blogs about Sydney Scuba Diving are not that easy to find. It is quite amazing to see the diversity of opinions on that subject.
