A Lunch Plate I had … Yummy, but a little hot and heavy!

As I was returning to the train station I made a slight detour to Glacier Fenocchio. It didn’t take me long to comprehend why this time-honored ice cream shop was so popular. They boast the largest collection of home made ice cream I had ever seen. With over 70 diverse flavors ranging from old favorites such as Peach Melba to the more bizarre flavors like mandarin orange the choices was endless. I chose the Peach one and enjoyed it all the way to the station.

I have seen Perito Moreno glacier and I couldn’t take my eyes off it for half a day. It is definitely a must see attraction in Argentina.

Visit to Longues-sur-Mer was a an amazing experience as well. Apart from the sunny beaches, Normandy offers the best of French cuisines too. The hotel, Belle Isle sur Risle, where we stayed was a nice one and was laced with complete amenities like, gym, sauna, swimming pool, restaurant etc.

The Loire Valley also has its charm. This place is a little different from Paris and has a quiet and calm life. People are not in a hurry and enjoy every bit of life. People coming for relaxed holidays prefer Loire from other French Provinces.

I was fortunate enough to locate and rent a flat in a charismatic neighborhood and still preserve enough funds to indulge in Paris‘ renowned cuisine. While searching for a place to live I discovered that Paris was divided into twenty different neighborhoods and these zones are arranged in an outward spiral initiation from the center of Paris.

Tradition states that the left bank of town is reserved for the bohemian population while the high priced shopping region is on the right bank. The truth of the issue is I did locate an area of charm regardless of where I went in Paris.
I found life to be very pleasurable within the area of Paris known as the Latin Quarter, being so designated because students from around the globe once spoke merely Latin to one another as their universal language.

The Latin Quarter commonly offers economical to moderately priced places to dwell. The inhabitants of this sector of Paris tend to boarder on the younger side. Many of the sidewalk cafes and bars in this area are usually open until the early hours of the morning. I found that an assortment of restaurants spanning in cost from the inexpensive to moderately priced accent the Latin Quarter and are colonized in general by the hip or the just plain inquisitive.

As I explored the shops in the area I found them to be geared more towards the youthful market then the more mature as found in other parts of the city. As with the assortment of clientele the shops too feature a great number of specialty stores as well as the unusual little boutiques. Since the area has by tradition been used by the students and scholars, I enjoyed the profusion of bookstores ranging from general topics to highly specialized books.

I liked the ample places to go while in the Latin Quarter giving me something to always do in my spare time. I would venture into the open-air food market which was open for customers three days a week as well as visit the “Mosque” where you can get one of the finest cups of tea in the city.

Our next destination Bloem was full of fun and frolic as we did lots of adventurous activities, tried a few gold shots, enjoyed the great African music, and the most interesting part is that we shopped a lot. I bought some local stuff for presenting to my family and friends. One thing I learnt there is that you need to be a good haggler. You must bargain to get the best price. Then we headed for Clarens to enjoy white water rafting and I can’t explain the feel of it in words. The beauty of Clarens is the sandstone mountains which surround it.

Our visit to Golden Gate National Park was a hurried one, but still we were fortunate enough to get a sight of a lot of wild animals including zebra, white rhinos and so many other animals I had but seen on TV before.

And how can one ignore Ghana from the itinerary while traveling in Africa!! We were overwhelmed by the treatment that Ghanaians offered to us. They are real sweet and friendly people. Though the people of this place are reliable, but not the weather. It is as hot and humid as it can be. Due to the weather the best season to visit Africa is during spring. Like the weather, the food is equally hot and spicy. So, one should be prepared to test the taste buds here.

Traveling in Africa has been an experience of seeing beautiful places, meeting lovely people, enjoying adventures and loving every bit of it. What more can one expect?!
