Authentic Mexican fiestas mean great eating and colorful entertainment. Try a salsa club to get your feet moving, or some live music from near or far away. How about a lively disco with a dazzling laser show, but be sure not to arrive before the fashionable crowd, never before 10:30 p.m.

If you prefer a more authentic glimpse into Mexico’s history and culture, the theme evenings in Cancun re-create Mexico’s rich heritage. Mayan rituals and Mexican traditions mix in a splash of light and dance at the Xcaret at Night Show, staged at the paradise setting of Xcaret. The local Folkloric Ballet is also an interesting glimpse into true Mexico.

Australia’s biggest attraction is its natural beauty. The landscape varies from endless sunbaked horizons to dense tropical rainforest to chilly southern beaches. Scattered along the coasts, its cities blend a European enthusiasm for art and food with a laid-back love of sport and the outdoors. Visitors expecting to see an opera in Sydney one night and meet Crocodile Dundee the next will have to re-think their grasp of geography in Australia. When to go? Any time is a good time to be in Australia. Summer (December to February) can get uncomfortably hot but it’s great beach weather. Up north, the summer wet season is very, very humid and the sea is swarming with box jellyfish. Winter (June to August) in Australia offers skiing in NSW, Victoria and sometimes Tasmania. In spring and autumn the weather is mild.

ME Cancun, a Sol Mélia resort, is full of pretty things: pretty people, pretty sceneries, pretty activities, pretty food dishes, and pretty furniture…

It’s not hard to understand why so many people are booking ME Cancun at HotelsBible.com, and also why the oceanfront hotel was recently awarded the AAA Four Diamond Award for 2008.

Room service at ME Cancun is prompt, the pool offers separate areas for adults and kids (ME Cancun caters mainly for adults, but occasionally adult clients bring their kids along), and the front desk staff is friendly, helpful, and good looking too.

Even so, a stay at ME Cancun leaves you feeling ambivalent. Surely the decor is trendy and modern and the infinity pool is a nice touch, but a stroll down the beach reveals that aesthetically, ME isn’t all that different from neighboring properties. Perhaps the only distinguishable feature–and one not in ME Cancun’s favor–is that all of ME Cancun‘s rooms, except suites, lack balconies.

Giving new meaning to the notion that beauty is only skin deep, ME Cancun doesn’t give any indication that it provides guests a better experience than any other hotel lining the northern beaches of Cancun. So while you’re guaranteed a nice stay at ME Cancun (at around $350 per night), experienced Mexico vacationers might want to book a resort with more personality…

I classify Majorca as a shopper’s paradise. Here is a place where there’s something for every liking ranging from the latest top designer items to specialty handcrafted ceramic pottery. Most of the shops in the Majorca resort area are arranged into small plazas and streets which remain open for business until late in the evening.

Be sure to procure one of the traditional Mallorquín shopping bags to hold your purchases in.In the course of my recent stopover in Majorca I spent significant time investigate the assortment of treasures offered at the largest mall in the city: the Centro Porto Pi.I looked at the diverse selection of leatherwork being offered at the famous Spanish department store of Galerias Preciados. After purchasing a tooled leather handbag I ventured to Avenue Jaume III which featured many globally recognized fashion and jewelry boutiques. Here I viewed the many cultured pearls being presented for sale and selected not only a set of Majorcan pearls but also some fine needlework for the wife.I found that not all the bargains are to be found in the upper class shops as there are an range of local flea markets in Majorca, all selling items ranging from food to arts and crafts. These Majorcan bazaars offer the browser both household wares as well as the farm fresh fruit, vegetables, and meats. Saturday morning is by tradition the market day at Avenida Alomar y Villalonga. My next shopping jaunt was to the renowned Casa Bonet where I acquire several hand embroidered tablecloths with matching napkins.If you have the resources of cooking your own meals don’t pass up the weekday produce markets highlighting a variety of delectable produce and local spices. One such market is to be found in the town of Sineu. This wide-ranging outdoor market sells all sorts of foods, spices, and wines as well as crafts and art. You can even procure live farm animals such as rabbits and chickens. If you arrive at the market early enough you can witness the sale of donkeys and sheep as well as other farm animals. As in any other region of Spain, most businesses in Majorca close for lunch around 1:30 and reopen at 5 and remain open until about 8 PM.

During my holiday in Cancun I become conscious of why it has developed into the foremost tourist resort in Mexico. I arrived in Cancun anticipating a small fishing village and stumble upon a tranquil, serene tourist center housing some of the most stunning beaches I had ever perceived in my travels.

My first day in Cancun was spent in a small rented boat and I proceeded to pilot the craft through the Nichupté and Bojórquez lagoons to a tapered island where I observed the crystal clear water and did a bit of enjoyable scuba diving.  Off in the distance I could make out the various travelers sailing and water-skiing.

I could scarcely believe my eyes during my initial night in Cancun as the nightlife was bustling within each and every one of the million-dollar discotheques which eloquently lined the Hotel Zone. As I wander from nightclub to nightclub, I could appreciate why Cancun bragged of its ’Big Name’ entertainers, many of which competed favorably with those found in America. I made my rounds to the Hard Rock Café and then on to DadyO’s and ended up in many of the lesser known bars.

Now to discuss my favorite part of any holiday I would like to momentarily mention the fine food. Cancun sports a expansive selection of dining opportunity. With over 200 restaurants the dining possibilities are infinite. Regardless of what cooking tends to tickle your palette you are certain to find it here.

I had to appraise the cuisine at the Blue Bayou. The Blue Bayou is the solitary Creole Cajun restaurant to exist in Cancun. I fervently feasted upon the boiled crawfish, potatoes, onions and corn cautiously seasoned with pieces of lemon and other spices commonly referred to as “crawfish boil”. My dinner was cautiously dumped upon a large, newspaper draped table and covered in spice blends. I marveled at the culinary talents of the Blue Bayou’s chief as I indulged in the seafood delight served with Corn Maque Choux. The fare was well seasoned, but I might mention not overly spicy. I simply could not have come across any taster meal if I had gone directly to Louisiana itself. The food was simply scrumptious, I can not wait until my next holiday in Cancun.
